Contemporary Kitchen — See Yours Transformed
A contemporary kitchen takes the best of modern design and softens it with curves, mixed textures, and a willingness to be interesting. Arched cabinet fronts, a fluted island, and a backsplash that doubles as art create a kitchen that is as impressive to look at as it is to cook in.

What Makes a Contemporary Kitchen?
The island is the room's centerpiece: a fluted plaster or fluted oak base with a thick travertine top and a waterfall edge on one side. Cabinet doors mix: flat-panel uppers in warm greige paired with arched or tambour-detail lower fronts in a contrasting wood tone. Hardware is a shaped bar pull in unlacquered brass that will develop patina over time.
The backsplash earns its place: a hand-thrown ceramic tile in warm white with subtle surface variation, a zellige tile in warm terracotta, or a single large marble slab with dramatic veining. Pendant lights above the island are sculptural — an organic blown-glass form, a pleated metal dome, or a ceramic cylinder. Counter stools have a rounded seat in warm fabric. The kitchen looks deliberately designed, not accidentally assembled.
