Art Deco Living Room — See Yours Transformed

An Art Deco living room is a masterclass in glamour with backbone — the kind of room that requires proper furniture and proper cocktails. Rich jewel tones, lacquered surfaces, and geometric patterns compose a scene that feels like a 1930s private club, updated for a modern life.

What Makes an Art Deco Living Room?

The sofa is tuxedo-style: straight arms, tight back, and upholstered in deep velvet — emerald, midnight blue, or ink black. A geometric-pattern rug in gold and black anchors the seating. Side tables and occasional chairs are lacquered in deep navy or black with gold-leaf edge detail. A mirrored side table or bar cart adds the Art Deco signature of reflection and refracted light.

Walls can carry a bold geometric wallpaper in a fan or sunburst pattern, or a deep paint color — forest, navy, or charcoal — with gold-framed mirrors and graphic art prints. Lighting is essential: an angular chrome chandelier, wall sconces in fluted glass, and floor lamps with gold-cage shades. Every surface should catch light and throw it back: lacquer, mirror, brass, and polished marble all earn their place.

Palette: Deep navy, emerald green, black, champagne gold, and rich cream
