Art Deco Dining Room — See Yours Transformed

An Art Deco dining room is where dinner becomes theatre. A round table in black lacquer, upholstered chairs in gold velvet, and a chandelier that dominates the ceiling create a dining experience that feels like a first-class ocean liner crossing — without the waves.

What Makes an Art Deco Dining Room?

The table is round and commanding: a lacquered black or dark walnut top with a fluted or sunburst base in polished brass. Chairs are fully upholstered — channel back or button tufted — in gold velvet or a deep jewel-tone fabric on a brass or gilded frame. No bare wood seat; the upholstery and the sheen of the frame are the point.

The chandelier is the room's crown: a tiered fixture in chrome and crystal, a stepped geometric form in brass and frosted glass, or a dramatic sunburst in antique gold. The walls are deep — navy, forest, or plum — with gilt-framed mirrors or geometric wall panels in gold leaf. A sideboard in lacquered black with mirrored panels and brass handles holds crystal decanters, gold-rimmed glassware, and silver candle holders.

Palette: Deep navy, emerald green, black, champagne gold, and rich cream
