Scandinavian Dining Room — See Yours Transformed

A Scandinavian dining room is light, airy, and designed for lingering conversations over simple meals. A pale wood table, mismatched chairs with clean lines, and a single pendant light create a space that is welcoming without trying too hard.

What Makes a Scandinavian Dining Room?

The table is round or rectangular in light ash, birch, or whitewashed oak — seats four to six. Chairs can mix: a pair of Wegner-style wishbones, a couple of Arne Jacobsen-inspired shells. The mismatch feels intentional and collected. A simple linen runner or woven placemat is the only table dressing.

A single pendant light — a PH lamp, a woven paper shade, or a spun aluminum cone — hangs low over the table. Walls are white with perhaps one piece of art: a simple botanical print or a black-and-white photograph. A small sideboard in pale wood holds candles and a carafe. The floor is light wood with a natural fiber rug.

Palette: Bright white, pale grey, soft blush, and light birch
